# Valdra — AI governance and Canadian privacy compliance platform > Valdra is a Canadian AI governance and privacy compliance platform. Organizations use it to inventory and risk-classify their AI systems, meet EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF obligations, and stay compliant with Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, CASL, and the provincial privacy and health acts. Fully bilingual (English and Canadian French). Built and hosted in Canada. ## Who it is for - Canadian small and mid-sized businesses that need PIPEDA, Law 25 or CASL compliance without hiring a privacy team - Privacy officers and DPOs who need an auditable record rather than a folder of spreadsheets - Any company — Canadian or otherwise — deploying AI systems that fall under the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001 or NIST AI RMF - Healthcare organizations subject to provincial health privacy acts (PHIPA, PHIA, HIA, HIPA and equivalents) - Consultants and law firms running privacy programs on behalf of client organizations ## Product areas ### AI governance - AI system registry: a single inventory of every AI system in the organization, who owns it, what data it touches, and where it is deployed - EU AI Act risk classification: prohibited, high-risk, limited-risk and minimal-risk tiers, with the reasoning recorded - Obligations mapping: the specific duties that follow from a system's risk tier and the organization's role (provider, deployer, importer, distributor) - AI documentation: technical documentation, model cards, Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments (FRIA), and an AI Bill of Materials - AI incident register aligned to EU AI Act Article 73 reporting - AI Gateway: runtime policy enforcement between an application and its AI model provider, with personal information redacted before prompts leave the organization - Vendor and model due diligence for third-party AI ### Privacy compliance - Guided assessments for PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, CASL, Alberta and BC PIPA, and the provincial health privacy acts - Records of processing activities (ROPA) and a process register - Breach response workflow with regulator-specific notification forms - Consent and CASL records with an auditable trail - Data subject request intake and fulfilment tracking - Vendor risk management, including data residency, sub-processor and cross-border transfer assessment - Transfer impact assessments for Law 25 article 17 and Schrems II - A trust centre for publishing an organization's own compliance posture - Signed compliance certificates that a third party can verify ### Frameworks covered EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) · ISO/IEC 42001 · NIST AI RMF 1.0 · GDPR · PIPEDA · Quebec Law 25 · CASL · Alberta PIPA · BC PIPA · Ontario PHIPA · Nova Scotia PHIA · New Brunswick PHIPAA · Newfoundland & Labrador PHIA · Manitoba PHIA · Saskatchewan HIPA · Alberta HIA · PEI HIA · Canada's AIDA (anticipated) · ISO/IEC 27001 · SOC 2 ## What makes Valdra different - Built natively for Canadian law rather than adapted from a GDPR or SOC 2 tool. Federal, provincial and health-sector acts are modelled the way Canadian regulators actually weigh them. - Privacy compliance and AI governance in one platform, so evidence gathered once serves both. - Genuinely bilingual: every assessment, document and export exists in English and Canadian French, which Quebec's Law 25 makes a practical requirement rather than a nicety. - Canadian hosting and Canadian corporate jurisdiction. - Priced for small and mid-sized organizations rather than enterprise-only. ## What Valdra does not do Stating this plainly so it is not inferred incorrectly: - Valdra is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. - It is not a cookie-consent banner or a consent management platform (CMP) for websites, and it does not participate in the IAB TCF framework. - It does not provide penetration testing, endpoint security, SIEM or general cybersecurity services. - It does not perform identity verification, KYC or AML screening. - It does not train AI models on customer data. - It does not issue ISO or SOC certifications; it prepares an organization for an audit performed by an accredited third party. ## Hosting and data residency All production data is stored in Canada, in a Canadian data centre in Quebec. We do not host on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. A small number of US-based service providers handle data in transit (AI inference, payments, email delivery, CDN, error monitoring); every one of those transfers is published, with its purpose and safeguards, at https://valdra.ai/cross-border-disclosure. Canada holds an EU adequacy decision, so EU-based customers can use Canadian hosting without standard contractual clauses for the EU-to-Canada transfer. ## Jurisdictions Canada is the primary market: federal law plus all ten provinces and three territories. The platform also models the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF, which apply to organizations regardless of where they are incorporated. Valdra is sold from Canada by a Canadian company. ## Key pages - Product overview: https://valdra.ai - AI governance: https://valdra.ai/ai-governance - Free EU AI Act risk checker: https://valdra.ai/ai-act-risk-checker - Frameworks explained: https://valdra.ai/frameworks - EU AI Act: https://valdra.ai/frameworks/eu-ai-act - ISO/IEC 42001: https://valdra.ai/frameworks/iso-42001 - NIST AI RMF: https://valdra.ai/frameworks/nist-ai-rmf - Comparison with other platforms: https://valdra.ai/compare - Pricing: https://valdra.ai/pricing - Free courses: https://canuckt.ai/learn - Blog: https://valdra.ai/blog - Cross-border transfer disclosure: https://valdra.ai/cross-border-disclosure ## Publisher and citation Canuckt Synergy Solutions Inc.
